friends of lake farm

Friends of Lake Farm is a group of local residents and community organisations under the chair of John McDonnell MP. It works with the Council as the Lake Farm Management Advisory Group (MAG) in the development of the Park for the benefit of the Hayes people. The Park won the prestigious Green Flag awards every year since 2006.

Local residents and groups can get involved in this rewarding project and have a say in any decisions affecting Lake Farm. The MAG aims to promote the safe and secure use of the Park, the protection and enhancement of its amenities, together with nature conservation and environmental education. The Hayes Hawks BMX Club operates from the Park's Sports Compound (go to www.hawksbmx.co.uk or call 07944 557 689 for more information). The Club regularly holds sessions on Saturdays, 11am to 2pm race meetings throughout the year and additional sessions as publicised.

Meetings are open to all and generally consist of round the table discussions focused on matters relevant to the Park and the locality. Friendly, with the minimum of formality, we try to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate. Meetings usually take place in (or in premises adjoining) the Gurdwara (Sikh Temple) in Golden Crescent, 7.30pm on the fourth Thursday, every third month.

You can confirm the date of a meeting and/or ask to be put on the mailing list by contacting John McDonnell' s Constituency Office at Pump Lane, Hayes, VB3 3NB, or emailing hayescanal@hotmail.co.uk (Robin Brown, Secretary to the Friends, 107 Wentworth Crescent, Hayes, UB3 INP).

Or you can simply turn up at one of our programmed meetings.
